Twitter Google Plus Facebook Pseudonym and Real Names

Twitter Google Plus Facebook Pseudonym and Real Names
Juliet

‘Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What’s Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What’s in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call’d,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.

Shakespeare

Pseudonyms and Real Names

Many people have pseudonyms, most everyone in Hollywood. Some use them for professional reasons and some use them for personal reason. Some use pseudonyms to create value associated with a name different than their legal name. This identity can be whatever it needs to be while the real person can live their life. Some people use pseudonyms to hide from malicious ex-spouses, as part of witness protection programs, to be free from the prying eyes of employers and the list goes on. A lot of the advocates for the use of real names say that the only people who are worried about having their name exposed are people that have something to hide. The other argument is that you don’t have to use the services. Both of these are falsehoods.

Plugging 42wd Publishing

42wd Publishing LogoSo I have this jobby that I’m doing. It’s a digital publishing company called 42wd Publishing. I’m not going to go into all the details here as we’re [me and my cohorts] are working on launching a big social info campaign very soon and it’ll have a lot of that info in it.

So here’s my shameless plug – click on the logo to get over to Google+ and throw me into one of your circles. This is my personal account but I’m putting out info about 42wd Publishing until Google+ kicks off its business pages. Once 42wd Publishing gets its own business page it’ll be pure 42wd Publishing. I’ll keep talking about my personal experiences during this experience on my personal Google+ account.

The main purpose of this jobby is to explore new design techniques and integration processes between designers and developers. I hope to be able to publish something [an eBook probably] that will describe everything we went through to get it up and running.

Note: If the logo link isn’t working for some reason click here.

3 Dangerous Tips of Success

Dangerous life of responsibility or a safe life of justification? Which person are you? Are one of those people who play it safe or do you live dangerously?

I’m not talking about the jumping off cliffs and out of airplanes or even poking an angry bear trying to steal your picnic. No, I’m talking about being a person who sit’s in the corner of meetings, keeps their head down below cube level, gets twitchy every time the printer starts printing a report that you just know you’re going to have to process. Are you that person? Well or you?

…or do you live dangerously?

How Much Are you Worth?

How much are you worth? How do you decided your value? Is your value measured in money or something else? Is your value established based on financial gain, the amount of stuff you have, how nice your car is, how much you know, how much you don’t know? How do you value yourself?

How much I’m worth has changed over the years. Not because I’ve made or lost money, or anything else similar, but because my perspective on my value has changed. You see we often fall pray to the benchmarks that society sets for us. Sure, we need to reach certain benchmarks in life to survive, i.e. paying our bills, but we shouldn’t let those benchmarks define our value.

I want you to take a good hard look at yourself and decide if your personal value is based on social benchmarking or those things that are actually valuable to you.
